107 marijuana plants seized from Coosa County field

A Sylacauga man faces drug charges after investigators found more than 100 marijuana plants.Coosa County deputies arrested 36-year-old Nathan Allen Smith for first degree possession of marijuana.Investigators responded last week to a domestic disturbance call near Rockford.{} Deputies chased a man into a field, later identified as Smith's property, and discovered 107 marijuana plants growing in pots in the field.The sheriff's office obtained a warrant for Smith's arrest.{} A deputy spotted him traveling to Sylacauga the following day and took Smith into custody.Agents from the Alabama Alcohol Beverage Control Board's Moonshine Task Force also assisted with the case.
