3 arrested, 130 grams of heroin seized in West Alabama drug bust
TUSCALOOSA COUNTY - AL —
Three Birmingham men were arrested and 130 grams of heroin were seized as West Alabama Drug Task Force agents wrapped up a month-long drug investigation Wednesday night, Tuscaloosa police announced Thursday.
Katiah Mateen Griffin, 33, is charged with one count of trafficking heroin and currently remains in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $1 million bond. Tramain Cortez McSwain is also charged with one count of trafficking heroin and is being held on a $25,000 bond. Martez William, 30, is charged with one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. He is being held on a $15,000 bond.
According to Sgt. Brent Blankley, the heroin seized has a street value of over $52,000. Agents also recovered several Xanax pills and $4,421 in cash.
"As Heroin use is on the rise, narcotics agents are doing everything they can to keep it from coming into Tuscaloosa," Blankley said in a release.
