A 19 year old Center Point man has been arrested after he was positively identified as the suspect in the August 2nd robbery of a woman at an apartment complex in Center Point. He is being held on $20,000 bond - his name is withheld pending the warrant being obtained.
Around 9:30pm on August 2nd, a 59 year old female told the Sheriff's Office that she had been robbed at gun point while walking in the parking lot of her apartments in the 100 block of 14th Avenue NE. She reported that she had been approached by an unknown male asking her for a stick of butter. He then immediately pulled out a pistol and demander all of her money. He then grabbed her purse and fled on foot.
Detectives developed a suspect and information that he was staying in a vacant apartment at the same complex. While looking into the vacant apartment, they found several cell phones and a BB pistol that looked similar to a real firearm.
Just after 7pm Monday, detectives received a tip that the suspect had been seen at the apartment complex. Several deputies responded and found him. He was then taken into custody without incident.
