19-year-old Shelby County teen killed by gunshot

No quick conclusions in the death of a 19-year-old from Shelby County.

The body of Cameron McGlothan was discovered in the Talladega County community of Sycamore earlier this week.

The cause of death has been ruled as a gunshot wound, though investigators won't say where.

Captain Ken Burchfield of the Shelby County Sheriff's Office told ABC 33/40 they have someone in custody on outstanding warrants. However, Burchfield could not comment on whether this individual is a suspect in the death of McGlothan.

Shelby County is helping with the investigation, but the Talladega Sheriff's Office, the county's district attorney and the Talladega County drug and violent crime task force have the lead in the investigation.

For now, the only bit of information district attorney Steve Giddens will confirm is that the death of McGlothan is being treated as a homicide.

McGlothan's family is not commenting publicly about the case.

ABC 33/40 did speak with his mother who referred to Barry Walker, the family's attorney.

Several attempts to reach Walker were not successful.{}
