19th century house moved in rural Alabama

Crews moved a nearly 200 year old house to a new location in a west Alabama community so it can be saved and refurbished.{} The Molette House was built in 1825.{} It was previously located in Dallas County near Orrville, on the edge of the Alabama River.{} Wednesday, owners Eleanor and David Chetham moved the house several miles to a new spot.{} The two got the house for free from an owner who had planned to demolish it for lumber.

The 188 year old house weighs more than 80 tons.{} The couple has plans to preserve the original home plus build additions to make space for bathrooms and a kitchen.
