2 charged with animal cruelty in dog hanging case

Prosecutors say two people in Valley Grande have been charged with animal cruelty. Fourth Judicial Circuit District Attorney Michael Jackson said that 26-year-old Caroline Dunnam and 23-year-old Andrew Parrish are each accused of hanging a small mixed breed puppy by its neck from the ceiling. Investigators said they received a tip about the dog after a photo of the puppy dangling by its neck from the ceiling was posted on Facebook.

Dunnam and Parrish surrendered to authorities on Jan. 10TH and are now free on $500 bond each. The puppy survived the ordeal and has been turned over to animal control.
