2 killed in crash on I-459 in Hoover identified as Midfield woman, 39, and her son, 15
HOOVER, Ala. (AP) - Authorities have identified two people who were killed in a crash on Interstate 459 in Hoover. Officials from the Jefferson County Coroner's office say 39-year-old Shontella Denise Sturdivant of Midfield and her 15-year-old son, Derrick Sturdivant, died after the SUV they were riding in veered into oncoming traffic Tuesday afternoon. Police have said the crash happened near the Montgomery Highway interchange. Authorities have said two children were also injured in the crash. The cause of the crash is unclear.
