It's a busy weekend in the Magic City. The annual Schaeffer Eye Center Crawfish Boil took place Saturday night.
The day was full of great bands - fun - and of course.. lots and lots of mudbugs.
For 28 years, The Schaeffer Eye Center Crawfish Boil has been a party with a purpose.
Harry Padbury says "Great place to come enjoy the music."
Musical performances like Gary Allan.. accompanied with some good food including that popular southern favorite... Crawfish!
"We'll get up to 12 thousand pounds today." It's an annual tradition for Catering Cajun of Baton Rouge. Jeremy Webber says "We've done this event for the last 10 to 15 years. When you pull up everybody is glad to see you."
Darrion Wilson says "The crawfish, the beer, It's a real good time."
Along with the fun... comes the purpose of helping others. Organizers say money raised from the event this year will go to Camp Smile-A-Mile and a new 50 Years Forward Scholarship Fund... remembering four girls killed in the 16th Street Baptist church bombing.
Walter Stephens says "It's a great atmosphere, great time. Just a good thing for the whole city."
