Northport woman, 2 Tuscaloosa men arrested on burglary charges
TUSCALOOSA - AL —
Police arrested two men and a woman in connection with an attempted burglary at a Tuscaloosa home today.
Daphne Monique, 25, of Northport and two Tuscaloosa men, 19-year-old Edward Kwame Sealey and 18-year-old Johnathan Deante Newton, are accused of kicking in a door and attempting to burglarize a home in the 6000 block of Northeast 37th Court around 11:40 a.m. The suspects fled the scene soon after realizing the homeowner was inside.
The victim told officers the suspects left the area in a white Oldsmobile, which police spotted a short time later. Following a traffic stop, the three would-be-burglars were taken into custody and transported to the Tuscaloosa Police Department for questioning. Investigators gathered enough evidence to charge all three with one count of second-degree burglary and they were placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where they each are being held on $30,000 bonds.
