41 dogs rescued from Fayette County facility

Animal welfare officials say more than 40 dogs have been rescued from a suspected dog fighting ring in western Alabama.Officials from the Humane Society of the United Sates say the dogs were removed from a property in Berry on Monday. {}Four people had already been charged with 80 counts of animal cruelty in connection with the case.Humane Society officials say the investigation into the Fayette County property has been open since October 2013 and another 65 dogs that were previously removed from the property have been receiving veterinary care.Officials say many of the dogs that were seized in the raid were living in deplorable conditions and didn't have access to clean water.
