Tuscaloosa police arrest 5 women on prostitution charges in online escort sting
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- An undercover internet prostitution sting netted five arrests in Tuscaloosa, police said Friday.
According to Sgt. Brent Blankley, agents with the Tuscaloosa Police Department Code Enforcement Division conducted the operation Tuesday, focusing on internet escorts advertised on various websites. During the investigation, five women hailing from four different states, including Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Florida, were arrested on charges of solicitation of prostitution.
Two of the escorts arrested -- 33-year-old Jaquillah Isabelle, of Macon, Ga., and 27-year-old Christine Sapp, of Tallahassee, Fla., were also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. The other three charged in the bust included 25-year-old Tabatha Ann Parham, of Metairie, La. and two Tuscaloosa natives -- 25-year-old Surget Renee Turner and 24-year-old Brittney Shada Young.
The women were booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail. Individual bond information wasn't immediately made available.
