5 injured in Clay accident

Five young people are in the hospital after a wreck on Trussville-Clay Road. It happen around 5:15 Friday afternoon in the 6700 block.

Jefferson County Deputies say a 17 year old female lost control of her Ford Escape. The vehicle left the road and struck a rock in a ditch.

Along with the driver there were three males and one female in the car. Their ages are 20,18, 15 and 16. The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries and the other occupants more serious injuries. All five were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

The accident remains under investigation. The conditions of the injured are not known at this time.
