Gillette has a new campaign in Brazil designed to convince men to shave body hair. People are offended.
In fact, 20 claims have been filed against the company. Within the next 30 days, the Brazil Advertising Industry will examine the claims and see if they hold merit. The complaint is that the ad campaign encourages prejudice against hairy men.
A spokesman for Gillette said the company had no idea this was such a touchy subject and never meant to offend anyone. G Gillette just wants to see razors and thought the ad campaign was a fun way to do so.
