A triple shooting leaves one person dead

One person is dead and two others injured in an early morning shooting in Ensley. Birmingham Police report the incident occurred in the 1600 Block of Avenue I. Around 2:30 a.m. police were called to the location and found the victim lying face down in the street suffering from a gunshot wound to the back. Birmingham Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The name of the victim has not yet been released pending notification of relatives. There were also two other additional victims who were shot and transported to UAB. They both have non-life threatening injuries. Detectives say they were told that a group of people were standing around some cars listening to music and socializing when they were struck by gunfire.
