Jamie Foxx summed up Alabama's 49-42 win over Texas A&M and the struggles of the Texas Longhorns in an interview with ABC 33/40 Saturday night.
The multi-talented entertainer was in Birmingham to host a concert for human rights, which was one of the many events held in the city during Empowerment Week -- a 50th anniversary commemoration of the 1963 16th Street Baptist Church bombing. The 41-year-old Texas native and former star quarterback at Terrell High School was quick to acknowledge the Crimson Tide's win in College Station over the Aggies while taking a subtle jab at his favorite college football team in the Lone Star State.
"Alabama won." he said. "I'm from Texas. I'm not necessarily an Aggie. I'm a Longhorn. We ain't got a chance but you did your thing. You got by with one."
Foxx made the statement prior to the Longhorns' 41-23 loss at home to Ole Miss, but after watching his team's humiliating loss to BYU in the season opener, he was safe to assume an impending defeat in week two against the Rebels. Head coach Mack Brown remains firmly on the proverbial hot seat, which continues to warm after the 0-2 start.
At the conclusion of the interview, Foxx said mockingly, "Alabama Crimson Tide! Roll Tide!"
