No Ebola cases have been reported in Alabama. No one has even been tested for the deadly virus. But the Alabama Department of Public Health is asking doctors to be on the lookout for Ebola.
ADPH issued an alert Friday to health care providers in the state. In addition to reporting any suspected cases, doctors are also asked to test those patients.
Travelers are urged to take precautions and avoid travel to Liberia, Guinea, Sierra Leone and Nigeria. If they must go, they are advised to avoid contact with blood, body fluids, animals, raw meat or areas were there are infected people.The disease has killed nearly one thousand people in those West African countries.
