Airport exhibits to spotlight history & tourism
A taste of Alabama's history and tourist attractions will soon to the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport. An exhibit will honor civil rights pioneer, Fred Shuttlesworth. The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute is designing the exhibit. The Southern Museum of Flight will provide artifacts and photographs from the Tuskegee Airmen. There will also be a sample collection from Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum and a children's play area designed by the McWane Center. Installations will take place early next year. The renovation and expansion of the airport won't be completed until 2014.
