Airport expansion could help business development in Birmingham area
The expansion of the Birmingham Shuttlesworth International Airport is expected to spur economic development in the area.
State representatives Paul Demarco and Oliver Robinson toured the renovated airport and checked out the additions to the facility. They say the upgrades will mean more business.
The first phase of the renovations to the airport will be complete in January or February of 2013, and include new gats, ticketing counters, and terminals. There are also new consessions such as Good People Brewing Company and Jim-N-Nick's Bar-B-Que.
