AJ McCarron is officially out of this month's Reese's Senior Bowl.
Alabama's record setting quarterback has decided to put his focus and energy toward preparing for his NFL career.
"I really appreciate being invited to play in the Senior Bowl," McCarron told AL.com. "It is quite an honor and something I've dreamed about while growing up in the Mobile area. However, at this time, I'm putting all of my focus and energy into preparing for the NFL Combine, pro day and the rest of the pre-draft evaluation process."
McCarron won 36 of his 40 starts in three seasons as Alabama's starting quarterback. He helped the Tide win two BCS national championships.
He's projected to be drafted anywhere from the first round to the third round of the NFL Draft, which will be held May 8-10 at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
