Alabama, Auburn, UAB players on Lombardi Award watch list radar

The Lombardi Award goes annually to the college football lineman — offense or defense — who, in addition to outstanding performance and ability, best exemplifies the discipline of Vince Lombardi.

College football released it's latest award watch list, with many of same names Auburn and Alabama fans have become used to seeing. Auburn's Reese Dismukes, and Alabama's Arie Kouandjio and A'Shawn Robinson are on the watch list for the Lombardi Award, given to the top down lineman or linebacker. All three players are on the watch list for the Outland Trophy as well.

UAB's Diaheem Watkins and South Alabama's Ucambre Williams are also on the Lombardi Award watch list.

Dismukes is a four-year starter at center who has started 37 of 39 games in his Auburn career. The Tigers have four of five starters back on the offensive line in 2014.

Kouandjio returns at left guard for Alabama, who must replace players at left tackle and right guard after Cyrus Kouandjio left early for the NFL and right guard Anthony Steen graduated.

Robinson led Alabama with 5.5 sacks and 8.5 tackles for loss last season.
