HOOVER - AL — Alabama baseball could play it's home games at the Hoover Met next season.Tide athletic director Bill Battle told AL.com that the school is in negotiations to use the ballpark in 2015 while Sewell Thomas Stadium undergoes a $35 million dollar renovation. The project to update Sewell Thomas Stadium will likely begin later this month unless Alabama earns the right to host an NCAA Regional. The renovations will be complete for the 2016 season."The Hoover Met's a great facility, the SEC's tournament's been there for years," Battle told AL.com. "We've got a lot of players from the Birmingham area and a lot of fans from the Birmingham area. Like anything, you play the hand you're dealt and you turn what might not be what you prefer into a positive by making the best you can of it."The Hoover Met is the former home of the Birmingham Barons, before the minor league baseball team moved into it's new home, Regions Park, last season.
