Alabama basketball lands commitment form JUCO guard

Algie Key wrapped up his weekend visit to the University of Alabama with a promise to return.

The junior college guard picked the Crimson Tide over offers from TCU and Georgia.

"I talked to Coach Grant at the end of my visit," Key told, "and I just really liked everything he{}had to say about Alabama and the direction that program is going. I went home and talked to my parents about it and we all agreed it was time for me to commit."

Key played at Barton County Community College last season. He averaged 17.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists a game. He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Key is the second player to commit to Alabama this week. The basketball program received a commitment from former Tulane Green Wave star Ricky Tarrant on Monday.
