Alabama fans collect more food than Auburn fans
TUSCALOOSA - AL —
Alabama fans are hoping the annual "Beat Auburn, Beat Hunger" campaign is a sign of Saturday's outcome for the Iron Bowl.
Alabama fans have collected more than 299,000 pounds of food, while Auburn has collected more than 169,000 pounds.
The food that is collected in Tuscaloosa will be donated to the West Alabama Food Bank.
Organizers at the food bank say it will go a long way in its pantry to help needy families.
The West Alabama Food Bank says it received so much food that it will take weeks to organize all of it.
