Alabama football adds Western Kentucky to 2016 schedule

TUSCALOOSA - AL — Western Kentucky will return to Bryant Denny Stadium in 2016.It will be the third trip the Hilltoppers program will have made to play Alabama since 2008. The Tide beat WKU 41-7 in 2008 and 35-0 in 2012."The five hour drive enables our fans to make the trip to Tuscaloosa and enjoy a terrific college football experience," WKU athletics director Todd Stewart said in a press release through the school. "Our players enjoy the exposure that results from competing at the highest level and many of them have excelled in recent games against strong non-conference opponents."The Bowling Green Daily News reports that Alabama will pay Western Kentucky $1.3 million for the game.The Hilltoppers are preparing for their first season as a member of Conference USA.
