Alabama football holds 1st full-squad practice of fall camp

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The football team practiced as a full squad for the first time in a two-hour workout in shorts and helmets Saturday afternoon at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields. Saturday marked the second of 28 practices for the Crimson Tide as it prepares for the season opener against West Virginia at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on Saturday, Aug. 30, in a nationally televised game on ABC/ESPN2 at 2:30 p.m. (CDT).

The day started with junior center Ryan Kelly earning his undergraduate degree in the August commencement ceremony inside Coleman Coliseum. Kelly is one of 15 Alabama football players who will play the 2014 season after having already earned their bachelor's degree.

Alabama's Fan Day is slated for Sunday at 2:30 p.m. with an open practice at Bryant-Denny Stadium followed by an autograph session with Crimson Tide players and coaches at approximately 4:45 p.m. for 45 minutes.
