JEFFERSON COUNTY, Alabama -- A nearly two-day-old wildfire in west Jefferson County has been contained, but not before it scorched 264 acres of land, a spokesperson with the Alabama Forestry Commission tells ABC 33/40.

According to the forestry commission, crews from Tuscaloosa, Jefferson and St. Clair counties teamed up in Adger to battle the fast-moving brush fire, which had jumped containment lines.
