Alabama gymnastics scored a cross country trip on the first day of spring break.
The Crimson Tide will be part of a NCAA Regional in Seattle next month. No. 4 Alabama will compete against No. 9 Nebraska, No. 16 Boise State, No. 20 Denver, No. 25 BYU and Washington at Alaska Airlines Arena beginning on April 5.
The top two teams advance to the NCAA Championships, which will be held April 18-20 at the BJCC in Birmingham.
"We were actually hoping to go to Seattle which is kind of interesting because it's such a far trip," said senior Kim Jacob. "We had so much fun the last time we went and had a great competition so I'm excited to go back."
Alabama won an NCAA Regional in Seattle in 2012 on it's way to a second consecutive National Championship. Memories of that trip immediately rushed back when the team got word of this year's destination.
"That's a trip I'm going to remember for a lifetime," said senior Sarah Demeo. "The freshman have no idea, they've never experienced that before and just seeing our excitement about it gets them really pumped about it."
More than half of this year's squad are upper classman.
Alabama's gymnastics program has won an NCAA-best 28 regional titles.
