Alabama jumps Southern California for No. 1 in the AP poll

Well, that didn't take long.

The Alabama Crimson Tide football team moved past Southern California in the latest Associated Press college football poll, becoming the new No. 1 team in the land.

The Tide gained 28 first-place votes after their impressive 41-14 victory over then No. 8 Michigan, giving them 45 first-place votes total.

No. 2 Southern California earned 11 first-place votes, while No. 3 LSU grabbed four after winning their respective openers.{} The Wolverines fell 11 spots to No. 19.

Alabama will take on Western Kentucky this Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa.{} Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m.
