Alabama Lt. Governor Kay Ivey now has her own app.

Ivey announced the launching of her new app Monday, saying the new mobile application was created as a way to increase accessibility to the citizens and at the request of her constituents.

"More often than not, Alabamians are closer to their mobile phone than a computer - mine is almost always within reach. So I am pleased to make this tool available so they may easily contact me and learn important information from my office," Ivey said in a news release.

The app, which is currently only available for Apple devices, is expected to provide users the latest news, columns and newsletters from Ivey's office in Montgomery. It also has links to her Facebook and Twitter accounts.{}
