Alabama out of lethal injection drug

Alabama is now unable to execute death row inmates.

The state attorney general's office says Alabama has run out of the drug used for executions, and finding new suppliers could be a challenge. {}That's because death penalty opponents want to pressure suppliers to stop selling the drug.

Alabama's prison system is pushing for legislation to keep the names of the supplier secret.

There are currently 16 Alabama death row inmates who have exhausted their appeals.
