BIRMINGHAM - AL — Alabama Power wants to make people aware that someone is calling customers and trying to get them to make a payment. The company says it's a scam.The company says the caller claims to be an Alabama Power employee. They call from a number that appears to originate from Alabama Power. According to the utility company, the caller tells customers not much time is left to make a payment using a money pack. The caller also requests calling a different number to make that payment.Alabama Power says its employees will never show up at a customer's door and ask for money. They also won't call requesting credit card or bank information.
