The University of Alabama softball team is letting it rain in Oklahoma City with a record-breaking win.
Despite an almost 3 hour rain delay, the ladies took home the NCAA softball title late Wednesday night.
Final score: 5 - 4
Pitcher, Jackie Traina threw a 5-hitter and delivered a key RBI single. Traina gave up 3 home runs - 2 to Lauren Chamberlain, including 1 in the 7th inning - but fanned her Oklahoma counterpart, Keilani Ricketts, to end the game. Alabama took advantage of Ricketts' wildness to score four runs in the 4th inning.
Oklahoma (54-10) had won 12 straight games, including the opening game of the championship series, before losing 2 in a row.
Alabama (60-8) is the first Southeastern Conference team to win a NCAA Softball title.
