Alabama State Troopers: 2 men killed in separate single-vehicle crashes

Alabama State Troopers are investigating two overnight accidents that left two men dead.Alford Lee Dortch, 40, of Coy, was killed after the Pontiac Grand Am he was driving on Alabama 41, around five miles south of Camden, left the road and overturned. Dortch wasn't wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, Sgt. Steve Jarrett said.Less than three hours later and in Jackson County, a single-vehicle accident claimed the life of a Scottsboro man and seriously injured another, both of whom were not wearing seat belts. According to Jarrett, 22-year-old Gary Parson died around 1:30 a.m. after the vehicle he was a passenger in left County Road 357, just two miles east of Pisgah, and struck a tree. The driver, 23-year-old Winston Parson, suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Huntsville. Parson's condition is unknown at this time. Investigations into both accidents remain ongoing.
