Alabama State trustee resigns from post

An Alabama State University trustee, who voted against a separation agreement with its former president, has resigned.{} Kathy Sawyer submitted her letter of resignation to Governor Robert Bentley on January 13th.{}{}Sawyer state in her{}resignation letter that she was unable to fulfill her responsibility "in a manner that benefits both the university and me personally."{} Sawyer spoke out against the school's plan to pay Joseph Silver more than $600,000 to resign from his position after being placed on administrative leave in November.
