Alabama's C.J. Mosley missed out on two near interceptions against LSU, but he had no trouble getting his hands on the SEC Defensive Player of the Week award.
Mosley had 12 tackles, which is the most on a defense that held LSU to 52 yards of offense in the second half of Saturday's 38-17 win.
It's the second time this season he has been named the defensive player of the week. Mosley earned the honor after the Crimson Tide shut out Ole Miss.
He's a semifinalist for The Lombardi Award, which goes to the nations best lineman or linebacker; Bednarik Award, which is for the most outstanding defensive player; and the Butkus Award, which is for college football's best linebacker.
No. 1 Alabama travels to Mississippi State on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. at Davis Wade Stadium.
