Alabama's Patrick Murphy, Jaclyn Traina earn SEC season honors

TUSCALOOSA - AL — Alabama's Patrick Murphy and Jaclyn Traina each earned SEC honors on the final day of the regular season.Murphy is the conference's coach of the year and Traina was named the league's pitcher of the year. It's the second time Traina has been named pitcher of the year (2012) and the fourth time Murphy has earned the league's coaching honor (2006, 2010, 2012).Traina was one of four Alabama players to earn All-SEC honors. Outfielder Haylie McCleney joined Traina as a first team pick. Infielder Kaila Hunt and catcher Molly Fichtner were named to the second team.McCleney also made the all-defense team.Alabama is the top seed in this week's SEC softball tournament and has a first round bye. The Tide will play either Auburn or South Carolina on Thursday.The SEC tournament is being played in Columbia, SC.
