A Shelby County Department of Human Resources employee has been arrested after a woman filed a complaint alleging inappropriate sexual contact during a home visit, Alabaster police said.

Brandon Howard Daniel, 29, is charged with soliciting for the purpose of influencing official action, indecent exposure, harassment and theft of property in connection with the complaint. He is currently being held in the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $40,000.

"The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges may be pending" Alabaster Police Chief Curtis Rigney said in a news release.

Authorities say an investigation into the incident began Wednesday and a search warrant was executed at the county's DHR offices in Columbiana Thursday morning.

"Today we executed a search warrant at the offices of DHR in Columbiana," Rigney said. "Evidence was collected and will be analyzed to determine its connection to this case."{}

Rigney concluded by thanking the Columbiana Police Department, Shelby Co. Sheriff's Office and DHR for their assistance in the investigation.
