Anniston man, 33, charged with felony for throwing hot coffee at boy, 5

ANNISTON, Ala. (AP) - Police in Anniston say a man accused of throwing hot coffee at a 5-year-old boy has been charged with felony domestic violence.

Sgt. Chris Sparks told the Anniston Star Wednesday ( ) that 33-year-old Ravois Johnson of Anniston is accused of intentionally throwing coffee on the boy.

Police say the victim is 1 of the man's relatives and it's not yet clear why he threw coffee at him.

Sparks says deputies met the victim and his mother at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital, where the boy was treated for burns to his hip Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities say Johnson is being held in the Anniston City Jail on $5,000 bond. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
