Anniston Soup Bowl will start serving meals from larger kitchen

An East Alabama{}soup kitchen that outgrew its facility is breaking ground on a new one.{}The Anniston Soup Bowl will hold a ceremony Monday at its new site.

Over the last year, the Anniston Soup Bowl has served meals to 31 thousand people. The community kitchen has served anywhere from between a hundred{}to nearly two hundred meals a day out of a house. But it needed more space.

On Monday, ground will be broken at its new facility at West 15th Street and Circle Drive at 11 a.m..
