Antwon Womack qualifies to run for District 8 school board seat

      Antwon Womack (Antwon Womack Facebook)

Antwon Womack, the 2009 Birmingham Board of Education District 6 seat candidate who dropped out of the race after it was discovered he lied about much of his credentials, has qualified to run for the District 8 seat this year, ABC 33/40 reporter Marissa Mitchell has learned.

Womack will compete for the school board seat against April Myers Williams.

During his last campaign four years ago, Womack said he was a graduate of West End High School and Alabama A&M. Both claims turned out to be false and it was also determined that he lied about his age.
