April 12 Recipe: Salsa Senorita's Spicy Slaw & Spicy BBQ Sauce

Salsa Senorita's Spicy Slaw

Makes 8 servings


  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and stemshed
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 T. honey
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup Salsa Senorita any variety
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/2 small head green cabbage finely shredded
  • 1/2 small head red cabbage, finely shredded
  • 1/2 cup julienne carrots
  • 1/2 cup green onion, finely sliced
  • 1 tsp. dill seeds
  • 1 tsp. celery seed or flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

In a blender or processor combine jalapeno, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, honey, Salsa Senorita, and rice vinegar.{} Puree until smooth and season to taste with salt and pepper.{} In a large mixing bowl combine cabbages, carrots, green onion, dill, celery seeds and toss.{} Fold dressing into cabbage mixture and season with salt and pepper.{} Chill until needed.


Spicy BBQ Sauce

  • 1 cup of R.Garlic Salsa Senorita
  • 1 cup of Sweet Melissa's Red Sauce

Mix salsa and red sauce, pour over chicken or pork and let marinate for at least 1 hour preferably 8 hours.{} Place mean in slow cooker or grill.{} Shred meat when done and top with spicy slaw.
