      ATV Safety Guidelines

The number of all-terrain vehicle accidents involving children is going down.

A new study shows the injury rate peaked at 67 injuries per 100-thousand children in 2004, but has since dropped to 42 per 100-thousand. The most common injuries were fractures, bruises, scrapes, and cuts. Researchers aren't why the numbers have gone down, but say practicing safety measures like wearing helmets and keeping kids under the age of 15 off of ATVs could be part of it.
