Auburn football set to hit the field with new look, new numbers

Auburn defensive end Dee Ford says Tigers fans can expect a much better season in 2013. (

Dee Ford promised fans would see a different Auburn team at SEC Media Days.

One of the changes Ford is talking about will be immediately evident.

The senior defensive end will have a new jersey number and wear No. 30. Ford wore No. 95 in his first four seasons at Auburn.

That's not the only new number to keep track of.

Former Woodlawn high star Cassanova McKinzy, who was No. 30 last year, will be No. 8 this season.

Defensive back Jonathan Mincy will be No. 6 after wearing No. 21 in his first two seasons.

Receiver Ricardo Louis will be No. 5 after wearing No. 6 last season.

Auburn football begins fall practice Friday afternoon.
