Auburn stays focused on the Iron Bowl
AUBURN, Ala. - Late Wednesday afternoon, the Auburn Tigers continued their preparations for Saturday's regular-season final game at No. 2 Alabama with a 90-minute workout in shells at the Auburn Athletics Complex Practice Fields.
"We're having meetings and a practice today, then we'll work in the morning to get them out of here around noon to be with family tomorrow," said Auburn head coach Gene Chizik. "We have one focus right now and that's the Iron Bowl."
This is the 77th renewal of the Iron Bowl rivalry; the game will be televised by CBS with a 2:30 p.m. kickoff. The Iron Bowl will also be the final collegiate game for 13 Auburn seniors: Daren Bates, T'Sharvan Bell, Deangelo Benton, Emory Blake, Jonathan Evans, Philip Lutzenkirchen, Onterio McCalebb, Ikeem Means, Anthony Morgan, Ashton Richardson, Travante Stallworth, John Sullen and Jamar Travis. They come into the contest with a career record of 33-18.
