Auburn's C.J. Uzomah got thrown into a starting role last season.
Now the Tigers hope he's ready to star.
Uzomah was named to the Mackey Award watch list, which goes to the top tight end in college football.
Uzomah became a starter after Phillip Lutzenkirchen injured his hip. He started three of the final six games of the season.
He had seven catches for 136 yards and a touchdown for Auburn in 2012
There are 37 names on the Mackey Award watch list, including five from the SEC.
