Two people were found dead at a home in Winston County Tuesday, Sheriff Rick Harris confirmed to ABC 33/40.
According to Harris, sheriff's deputies were asked to perform a welfare check at a residence located on Highway 41 in the Upshaw community. Upon entering the home, authorities found a man and a woman dead. It was later determined that the male victim was the nephew of the female victim.
Harris says the nephew had been living with his aunt for approximately one year prior to their deaths.
The Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the Winston Co. District Attorney's Office is assisting the sheriff's office in the investigation. Two persons of interest in the case are currently being questioned.
