Authorities searching for Alabama prison escapee

A prison inmate has escaped from the Mobile Work Release Center in Pritchard.

Authorities say it seems prison inmate, Mark Todd Johnson, escaped Friday night around 11 p.m.{} Alabama Department of Corrections reports say, authorities discovered Johnson was missing during an institutional bed verification.

Prison records show the 33-year-old inmate was sentenced to 18 years in prison on a forgery charge. He was sentenced in April 2012. Johnson was serving his time at the Mobile Work Release Center in Pritchard. According to the Department of Corrections website, the facility has the capacity to hold 55 community and minimum custody prisoners.
