Police are investigating a bank robbery in Homewood on Thursday. The incident happened around 4 p.m. at the National Bank of Commerce located at 813 Shades Creek Parkway.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation, and they are currently searching for the suspect. It is unknown at this time if the suspect was armed during the robbery. Nobody was injured during the incident.

Sgt. Randy Christian reports that a man entered the National Bank of Commerce just after 4 p.m. Thursday and handed a teller a note demanding money. The teller gave the suspect an unknown amount of cash and the man left the bank without ever producing a weapon. The man fled the scene in a late 90's gold Ford F-150 heading east on Shades Creek Parkway.
Witnesses described the suspect as a 5'10 white male wearing a red and black jacket.
