Barons #4 on season attendance record

It was a day for the history books at Regions Field.

Monday's attendance of 4,388 put the Barons fourth in Southern League history of season attendance.

The team already set a record for attendance at a new ballpark earlier this year.{}

But, the Barons came up about 3,000 short of reaching the 400,000 attendance mark.{}

Barons management says this season had a lot of positives that can be built on for next year.

"2013 is not the finish line. So we got to continue to build on what we do, continue to create wonderful promotions and continue to have a great team that's out here that's going to entertain folks," says Barons general manager Jonathan Nelson.

There is still more baseball to be played at Regions Field this week.

The Barons will host two playoff games, Thursday and Friday. They begin at 7:05pm.
