BCRI hosts Hispanic voter registration drive

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute (BCRI) and Rivera Communications have partnered up for a Hispanic Voter's Registration Drive on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 10 am to 5 PM. Voter registration forms will be available on a table in BCRI's Rotunda.

"Our partnership with Rivera Communications will create more opportunities for eligible voters to become registered, which is especially important now with the upcoming Presidential election," said Ahmad Ward, BCRI's Head of Education and Exhibitions. Theresa DeLeon of Rivera Communications says, "A recent story reported that more than twenty million American Latinos are eligible to participate in this year's election, so it's vital for the Hispanic community to get involved and register to vote, especially in the State of Alabama. This year's election will be one of the most anticipated elections in our history with polarizing topics on Immigration and The Dream Act in the Hispanic community."
